API

Read-only. CORS-open. No authentication, no key, no registration. Built to be called by developers and by the agents they build.

Query the registry

One endpoint does most of the work. Every parameter is optional.

curl "https://wycord.com/api/resources?category=apis&country=NG&q=payment"

category · country · q · slug · page. The full contract, with every field and response shape, is the OpenAPI 3.1 spec.

The fields that matter

Anyone can list African APIs. The point of Wycord is that the listing has been checked, and that the check has a date on it.

  • docs_status — re-probed on a schedule. LIVE, BROKEN, UNAVAILABLE (gated), REDIRECT, SHUT_DOWN.
  • last_verified — when that probe actually ran. Cite it.
  • licensing_required — NONE, APPROVAL, LICENCE. This decides whether a provider is a drop-in or a six-week procurement.

MCP server

Same registry, over the Model Context Protocol. Streamable HTTP, read-only.

claude mcp add --transport http wycord https://wycord.com/api/mcp

Tools: search_resources, get_resource, list_categories, list_countries.

Markdown instead of HTML

Ask for markdown and any page returns its content rather than its layout. HTML stays the default for browsers.

curl -H "Accept: text/markdown" https://wycord.com/apis

Discovery

Everything above is discoverable without reading this page. Each response carries an RFC 8288 Link header, and the catalog lists every machine surface in one document.

  • /.well-known/api-catalog — RFC 9727 catalog
  • /.well-known/mcp/server-card.json — MCP server card
  • /.well-known/agent-skills/index.json — published agent skills
  • /llms.txt · /llms-full.txt
  • /auth.md — auth policy

Limits

Reads are not rate-limited today, but this is a small independent registry — please cache. Writes (/api/submit) are rate-limited per IP and land in a review queue; nothing is published straight to the registry. Send a User-Agent that identifies your agent, so we can contact you rather than block you.
